Indian Village Woman’s Garden Club’s meeting Monday, January 9, 2017: It was in Renata’s lovely home, beautifully decorated for the Holidays. At 7:00pm, we started with conversation and refreshments provided by our hostess. Savory cornbread stuffing, fried chicken, green beans and more were served. Wine, water and lemonade were available to wash it all down. At. 7:30pm, our president lead us in a short business meeting and we approved the annual budget.

Lisa, ready to get cooking

The program started at 8:00pm. We were very pleased to have Lisa Ludwinski, of Sister Pie, join us. She  demonstrated of how to make her wonderful pie crust. Sister Pie has received glowing reviews both locally and nationally. The demo ended with samples of salted maple pie and lemon meringue pie. The wonderful dessert was throughly enjoyed by all.

Sister Pie review in Michigan Live

Lisa explains how she went to New York to become a theater directer, started a video cooking blog and came back to Michigan a master baker.

Dough is shaped into a disc, wrapped in plastic and throughly chilled.

Lisa uses a French rolling pin with tapered ends.

The crust is cut to size before being place in the pie tin.

The edges were carefully crimped.

Deborah found the salted maple was fantastic!

Delray enjoyed the lemon meringue. It was just as good as the maple or even better!
