Calendar of Events

With the COVID-19 pandemic still impacting our state, many schools, churches, non-profit organizations, entertainment venues and more in our area have suspended or cancelled events. Because this situation is fluid and can change from day to day, if you are interested in attending an event listed below on the calendar, it is best to call or e-mail the event organizer to confirm the event still will be held.

5/3/21 (Monday) — 6 p.m. — Villages security meeting covering Indian Village, West Village, Berry Sub and other Villages neighborhoods will be conducted via Zoom.

5/3/21 (Monday) — 7 p.m. — IVA board meeting will be conducted via Zoom.

5/7/21 (Friday) — GFL Environmental will pick up trash.

5/7/21 (Friday) — 10 a.m. to 12 noon — In partnership with Iroquois Avenue Christ Lutheran Church, Inner City Youth Group (ICYG) is offering free second Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines in the church parking lot. Preregistration is required.

5/7/21 (Friday) — 10 a.m. to 12 noon — In partnership with Iroquois Avenue Christ Lutheran Church, Inner City Youth Group (ICYG) is distributing free carryout meals in the church parking lot for families in need.

5/7/21 (Friday) — 11 a.m. to 12 noon — In partnership with Food Rescue US, Jefferson Avenue Presbyterian Church is distributing thirty 25-pound boxes of food in the church parking lot for those who would like them. Distribution is contactless and social distancing is practiced; the boxes will be given on a first-come, first-serve basis, so arrive promptly.

5/14/21 (Friday) — GFL Environmental will pick up trash, bulk waste, recyclables and yard waste.

5/26/21 (Wednesday) — 7:30 p.m. — Jefferson Avenue Presbyterian Church invites its neighbors to a live stream performance of Rachmaninov’s Third Piano Concerto, one of the most iconic, lyrical and virtuosic musical moments in the piano repertoire. Piano soloist Joseph Walters and accompanist Dr. Rebecca Happel will perform this powerful and legendary piano concerto in a two-piano performance in the church sanctuary and neighbors can watch it live via Facebook or view it later on Vimeo.
