2/3/17 (Friday) to 3/10/17 (Friday) — 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. — Detroit Waldorf School presents its parent/child program at the school for children ages twelve months to three years old accompanied by a parent or caregiver. Activities include outdoor play, circle time (songs, finger play, games, nursery rhymes), snack preparation, free play/creative play, crafts and stories.

2/4/17 (Saturday) — 9:30 a.m. to 12 noon — Iroquois Avenue Christ Lutheran Church invites everyone to drop off gently used clothing, shoes, towels and bedding for the church’s clothes closet, the proceeds of which are sorted and distributed to area residents. Men’s, women’s and children’s clothes are needed; toiletries, including travel samples, also are welcomed.

2/7/17 (Tuesday) — 4 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. — Jefferson Avenue Presbyterian Church’s Tutoring TREE program at the church. The program includes a snack, tutoring, art and gym for Nichols School students in the second through fifth grades.

2/9/17 (Thursday) — 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. — Taste of Waldorf Tour at Detroit Waldorf School. The program for adults gives participants a chance to visit pre-kindergarten through eighth grade classrooms and learn more about the grades and subject matter.

2/9/17 (Thursday) — 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. — The West Village Association will host a session on solar lighting options for the village’s alleyways at Church of the Messiah at East Grand Boulevard and Lafayette. The event will include presentations and question and answer sessions.

2/11/17 (Saturday) — 1 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. — Detroit Waldorf School invites all interested adults to a program at the school entitled “What’s With the Boys? Raising a Son in the Tech World.” The program, presented by Ted Braude, an integral psychologist and founder of The BoysWork Project, will offer a look at boys from early childhood through 8th grade with special attention to the realm of “screens” on their becoming and belonging in the world.

2/11/17 (Saturday) — 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. — Iroquois Avenue Christ Lutheran Church invites everyone to a dance at the church. The evening includes a live DJ, light appetizers, beverages and crafts for kids.
