4/1/18 (Sunday) — 10 a.m. — Jefferson Avenue Presbyterian Church invites everyone to its Easter service at the church. The morning begins with a brief Resurrection Service at 10 a.m. in the Steep Memorial Garden. A musical prelude begins at 10:15 a.m. in the sanctuary, followed by the Easter service at 10:30 a.m.

4/2/18 (Monday) — 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. — Villages security meeting at Iroquois Avenue Christ Lutheran Church, covering Indian Village, West Village, Berry Sub and other Villages neighborhoods.

4/8/18 (Sunday) — 4:30 p.m. — Jefferson Avenue Presbyterian Church invites everyone to another free performance in its 2017-2018 music series. This month’s performer is Cliff Monear. A product of the Berklee College of Music, Monear is a facile and imaginative pianist.

4/9/18 (Monday) — 7 p.m. — Indian Village Woman’s Garden Club meeting.

4/10/18 (Tuesday) — 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. — Jefferson Avenue Presbyterian Church’s Tutoring T.R.E.E. program at the church. Adult volunteers work one-on-one at the church with Nichols School students in the second through fifth grades, helping them improve their math and reading skills. Snack, art and gym activities also are part of the weekly program.

4/13/18 (Friday) — 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. — Jefferson Avenue Presbyterian Church invites its neighbors to its winter community movie night at the church. The free event includes a family-friendly movie, popcorn, snacks and beverages.

4/14/18 (Saturday) — 10 a.m. to 12 noon — Iroquois Avenue Christ Lutheran Church invites everyone to drop off gently used clothing, shoes, towels and bedding for the church’s clothes closet, the proceeds of which are sorted and distributed to area residents. Men’s women’s and children’s clothes are needed; toiletries, including travel samples, also are welcomed.

4/18/18 (Wednesday) — 11 a.m. — The Indian Village Woman’s Garden Club invites its members and guests to the 9th annual Daffodils4Detroit luncheon at the Detroit Yacht Club on Belle Isle. Check-in begins at 11 a.m.; the program begins at 12 noon. Guest speaker is Lynden B. Miller, public garden designer and founder of the 9/11 Daffodil Project in New York City.

4/18/18 (Wednesday) — 7 p.m. — Indian Village Men’s Garden Club meeting at the Iroquois Avenue Christ Lutheran Church. 7 p.m. — refreshments and socializing; 7:30 p.m. — gourmet potluck (bring a dish to share); 8 p.m. — brief business meeting, followed by the evening’s speaker, Loretta Lucas of Two James Spirits.

4/19/18 (Thursday) — 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. — Taste of Waldorf Tour at Detroit Waldorf School. The program for adults gives participants a chance to visit pre-kindergarten through eighth grade classrooms and learn more about the grades and subject matter.

The breakfast includes all-you-can-eat pancakes, turkey sausage, grits, cheese, fruit, coffee, tea, milk and juice. The event includes a 50/50 raffle.
